Dear Parishioners,
This Friday we celebrate the Feast of The Holy Family. It is a day to honor Jesus, Mary and Joseph for their love and devotion to each other.
We know that Joseph watched over Jesus and Mary with a dedicated love of a husband and a father. We know that Mary cared for Jesus and Joseph with the tender love of a wife and mother. And, we know that Jesus regarded Mary and Joseph with a trusting love of a loyal child.
These three figures of history and of faith should be looked to as an example for all of us in our family relationships.
Our families are God’s gift to us of love. He places us in a family so that we can love and be loved in a special way. We must look to each other in our families with the kind of love and respect, which Jesus, Mary and Joseph had for each other.
Today, take the time to thank God for your family, whomever that family may consist of. Ask yourself, “are you a gift of God’s love to them and vice versa?” Ask the Holy Family to intercede for your family. Pray especially for the most troubled and alienated members.
I pray for all families of Saints Peter and Paul, as I pray for my own family. I ask you to do the same.
May Jesus, Mary and Joseph assist us in being the love of God in each other.
God bless us all!

New Year’s Prayer
Lord, You make all things new.
You bring hope alive in our hearts
and cause our Spirits to be born again.
Thank You for the New Year,
for all the potential it holds.
Come and kindle in us a mighty flame
so that in our time, many will see
the wonders of God
and all will live forever to praise.
Your name.
Amen.
