Dear Parishioners,
I ask for your prayers for our newest priests; Bernard O. Ekeagwu, Gregory H. Miller, Brendan R. Zehner, being ordained next week on Saturday, May 18, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, by Archbishop Nelson Perez.
We rejoice and thank God for the gift of the priesthood and for our new priests here in the Archdiocese.
Below are prayers for Vocations and for Priests. I ask that you pray for our priests and all of us.
God bless us all!
Fr. Citino
Prayer for Priests
Ever living God and Father of us all,
you give to your Church the Priesthood of your Son, Jesus,
and by the power of the Holy Spirit, you provide
holy priests for a holy people.
We pray for all our priests, who announce the Word
of God and celebrate the sacraments, for those who are old, for those who serve in difficult and trying circumstances, for those who are faithful and those who are faltering, and those who have died.
We entrust all our priests to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, that they may persevere with fidelity to you and to your Church.
With Saint John Vianney, patron saint of priests, we pray that our priests may never fail to lead us to you.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Prayer for Vocations
Father, in your plan for salvation, you provide
shepherds for your people.
Fill our Church with the spirit of courage and love.
Give the Church more priests, worthy ministers
for your altars and ardent but gentle servants of the Gospel.
Grant also to us an increase in vocations to the religious life. May more of our young people respond to your call in a spirit of joyful generosity. May they serve your people in love by following in the footsteps of Christ, your Son and provide by their way of life, a convincing sign of your kingdom.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
