Next Monday, March 1 and Tuesday, March 2 at 4:00 PM, Bishop Fitzgerald will administer the Sacrament of Confirmation to 80 of our young people. Normally, we would have one Mass in which all of our children would be confirmed, but due to social distancing, Bishop Fitzgerald will be celebrating mass and administering the Sacrament of Confirmation on Monday and Tuesday, so all in attendance will feel comfortable and safe.
This time of Confirmation in our parish is a moment of grace for our young people and our entire parish.
We believe that through the Sacrament of Confirmation, the Holy Spirit comes to us in a special way to strengthen and guide us along our journey and to sanctify us, make us holy. We rejoice that the Holy Spirit will come in this special way into the lives of our young people.
I ask that all of you join me in thanking God for His Holy Spirit in our lives. I also ask that you join me in praying that our young people who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation this week, will always be open to the presence and the guidance of the Holy Spirit in their lives. What better guide can we have along life’s journey, than the light of God’s Spirit?
This is truly a time of grace and rejoicing as we, as a parish family, celebrate once again, the coming of the Holy Spirit to another group of our young people in the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Both masses will be live-streamed at 4:00 PM each day.
“Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful
And kindle us in the fire of Your love.”
