On November 1 and 2, we celebrate two special days. Monday, we celebrate the Feast of All Saints and Tuesday, the Feast of All Souls.
On the Feast of All Saints, November 1, we remember those who are models to all of us living the faith we all profess. After proving their goodness and giving witness to the presence of God on Earth, they now enjoy their reward in Heaven.
The saints continue to assist us as they intercede for us before the throne of God. We look to their example and count on their prayers to assist us along our journey. We ask for the intercession of our local saints, Saint John Neumann and Saint Katherine Drexel.
Since November 1 falls on a Monday this year, The Feast of All Saints is not a holyday of obligation.
On the Feast of All Souls, November 2, our prayers are offered in thanksgiving to God for having allowed them to touch our lives with their love and goodness. We pray that God will grant them the everlasting rewards of eternal life.
During the month of November, we will remember all our deceased loved ones, with a special remembrance of all those whose names are submitted and placed on our altar to be remembered at the masses.
