Dear Parishioners,
This week is the fourth of July holiday. It is a time to get together with family and friends to enjoy barbecues and picnics. It is truly a happy time.
It is important however that we realize we are celebrating our freedom as a nation. Our freedom is a gift that too often we take for granted. The freedom that we enjoy as citizens of the United States of America, did not come without cost. Many gave their lives so that we could enjoy the freedom and rights we have.
I ask that as you celebrate this holiday marking our freedom, liberty and privileges as Americans, that you offer a prayer of thanksgiving to God. Also, remember in prayer those who have and who defend our freedom, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice and those who today stand in dangers way for us.
Be aware of the oppressed and the needy, here and throughout the world and do your part to protect the freedoms and rights of all, including religious freedom. God is our true giver of freedom for all. May we acknowledge and thank Him on this day and continue to seek His assistance in ensuring the dignity, rights and liberty of all, as we move forward.
Happy Birthday America. May God continue to bless us all!
