In the next few weeks, colleges and universities will be opening for a new school year. Many of our young people from Saints Peter and Paul will be entering college for the first time, and others will be returning for another year.
I want to say to all our college students here at Saints Peter and Paul, we are praying for you and that Saints Peter and Paul and your parish priests are always here for you.
I ask all of our young people in college to take along with you the faith and values instilled in you by your parents, teachers and parish community. You will find that as you grow older, your faith becomes more and more your strength for the journey. Be sure to keep the Lord a special part of your life through prayer, attending Mass, and receiving the Sacraments.
Take your education seriously and work to the best of your ability to accomplish your goals. Four years pass by quickly and before you know it, you will hopefully be beginning your chosen career.
Be sure to keep yourself safe and healthy and choose your friends wisely. A good friend brings out the best in us.
On my behalf as your pastor, and on behalf of the parish community, I wish all our college students the best of luck in this exciting phase of your life. I promise you our prayers and ask God to bless you and all your endeavors.
I ask all of our parishioners to join me in prayer and in offering best wishes to our college students. They are our hope for the future.
