Next Sunday October 24, is World Mission Sunday. Please see the message from Archbishop Perez, and information concerning the missions in this bulletin.
“Proclaim It with Joy”
A disciple of Christ follows in His footsteps. From the day of your Baptism, you are called to be a Missionary.
While you may not travel to another country to do so, the Holy Spirit can move you to go beyond your daily concerns, offering your prayers and gifts—so that others may come to know and to believe in Jesus Christ.
Mission Dioceses are supported in prayer and sacrificial giving, by Three Pontifical Mission Societies:
The Society of the Propagation of the Faith
The Missionary Childhood Association
The St. Peter Apostle Society
Pope Francis reminds us that, “The word of Christ is intended to reach out to everyone, in particular, those who live in the peripheries of existence, so that they might find in Him, the center of their life, and the source of hope.” He continually asks for emphasis to be placed on Jesus’ greatest command “Go forth and make Disciples of all nations. "
Matthew 28:19
May we all do our part to support the mission around the world. The second collection will be taken up next weekend, October 24 for the World Missions.
