Dear Parishioners,
This Sunday is Mother’s Day. It is a special day to honor our mothers and let them know how much we love them. As I said, it is a special day. It is not the only day we express our love and admiration for our mothers. That is something we should do every day.
Those of us who have been blessed with good mothers know what a gift they are to us. The sacrifices they make for us day in and day out, are made without a second thought. They brought us into this world. We are an integral part of them. We are their children no matter how old we are. They never stop caring for us and wanting to guide and protect us. They hold us close to their hearts. They are truly the very personification of God’s love for us.
Today we honor our mothers and all those who are nurturers, the mother figures in our lives. They too are many and a gift to be treasured. Be sure to tell them and show them you love them. They are only present with us in this world for a time, but their love for us lives on in eternity.
And so, whether present with us here and now or already called to their reward with God, we say” “Thanks Mom! We love you and will never forget all You have done for us.”
Happy Mother’s Day to all Mothers and Mother figures!
God bless us all!

A Prayer For All Mothers
“Lord Jesus,
Today, I want to pray for all mothers:
for those who are happy, and those who are crying;
for the ones who are strong
and the ones who are weak;
for those who are loved and those who are rejected;
for those who are living on Earth
and those who have gone to live beyond death.
Bless them all, Lord.
Give to each what each deserves,
for mothers deserve only the best of love
and fullness of life.
Like wonderful, fruit bearing trees
in the desert of life,
Mothers give their everything:
their shadow, their leaves, their fruits,
their branches, their trunk, their very roots…
that their children may live and prosper.
Such was my mother to me.
Such are all real mothers to the children they bear-
the clearest and constant revelation
of what You are and do for all.
Give them reward that You alone can give, Lord Jesus,
for you know what it is to have a mother.
(Euchalette, 5.13.12)
A Mother's Beatitudes
Blessed is the mother who understands her child,
for she shall inherit a kingdom of memories.
Blessed if the mother who knows how to comfort,
for she shall possess a child's devotion.
Blessed is the mother who teaches respect,
for she shall be respected.
